PUBLIC MEETING INFORMATION PROCESSED IN ROCKWOOD

ROCKWOOD – Following a public brainstorming session held on October 24th, members of the City Industrial Board and Planning Commission will now prioritize the suggestions and ideas formulated. This meeting was held as part of the process of developing a strategic marketing plan for Rockwood.

"After a review of the information accumulated, the data was categorized into three major grouping areas," reported Angela Couch, Rockwood Industrial Board Vice President. "The three main areas we need to focus on are projects improving quality of life (Quality of Life), projects that define what we in Rockwood will be known for (Theme Rockwood), and projects that will be apparent to people who visit Rockwood (Destination Rockwood). There are many individual suggestions and known drawbacks listed under each of these major groupings. With the help of the Planning Commission, we will now begin the effort to prioritize the ideas by both feasibility and urgency of need. This step is expected to be completed by November 28th."

Once this prioritization process is completed, committees will be formed to identify potential implementation plans leading to the development of a proposed vision for Rockwood, subject to approval by the Mayor and City Council. An additional benefit from these plans will be the development of a marketing plan.
