CITY OF ROCKWOOD SEEKS COMMUNITY INPUT FOR MARKETING PLAN
ROCKWOOD – At a meeting attended by over thirty prominent Rockwood citizens, Mayor Mike Miller invited the population of Rockwood to become involved in a strategic marketing plan involving the future of Rockwood.
"I really believe we are going places," said Miller, after announcing traffic passing through the city has increased dramatically. Miller also announced a bid had been received for the anticipated waterfront development on Watts Bar Lake. Applauding the effort to begin a marketing campaign for the city, Miller added "I commend the Industrial Board for beginning this initiative."
Community members are encouraged to attend a special meeting on October 24th at the City Hall designed to solicit input regarding perceived strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats faced by Rockwood. This meeting will be an organized brainstorming session, with the results culminating in a shared "vision" for Rockwood's future.
Jim Hines, City of Rockwood added "our marketing plan will supplement Roane County's plan, but will be tailored specifically for Rockwood. We have a lot of opportunity here."
Citizens are encouraged to think about what they would like Rockwood to look like in the future, and to bring ideas to the meeting on Monday, October 24th at 7:00 pm in City Hall. Everyone's ideas are welcomed and people are encouraged to invite friends and neighbors to attend.
Additional information on Rockwood's development of a strategic marketing plan will soon be available on the web at http://www.rockwoodtn.org. For more information, contact Industrial Board Chairman Stan Wassom at (865) 354-2877 or Industrial Board Member Wayne Duggin at (865) 354-0611.
