STRATEGIC MARKETING PLAN INITIATIVE

In late 2005, City Industrial Board officals and Planning Commission officials began an endeavor to make Rockwood more marketable to outside industry, to improve the quality of life for Rockwood residents, and to attract visitors to discover Rockwood's assets.

At a general meeting held in Sept 2005, the City began the strategic planning by asking for input from the community regarding their "vision" for Rockwood. In October, a city-wide SWOT analysis was conducted with results tallied/processed using the common prioritization matrix method.

Three separate committees were formed as a result of this process to pursue planning and recommendations to the City Council. Citizens and residents in and around Rockwood are encouraged to become a part of this process.
